V-Day Catch-up!

Man! Yesterday was insane! I went through three different V-Day manis (pictures to follow), got an amazing gift from my maoma (pics to follow) and my first ever Julep Maven box! (click on the link to join, pics to follow!)

Ok ok ok, where to start.... V-Day mani and why I had three D: My first attempt was an idea I got from Pinterest (find me there!) but.... bad things happened. This one I attempted the day before V-Day, which was an all around terribad day! It was supposed to look like hearts stacked on each other and.... well we will get to that.

My second attempt was at a gradient mani, which started out looking terrible but by the end I was in love! Unfortunately this one was lost to smudging while I was organizing the stash /facedesk.

My final mani looked good while I left it simple, but then I went and tried to stamp it and....... well yeah -_- I should have put a topcoat over my base color so the stamp would stick better. And of course, I was so busy and distracted that I never took pictures of my final mani! Darn!

So here are my two previous <3day manis. First up was my gradient that I improved until I loved!
(more after the break)
From thumb to pinky I used OPI "Sweetheart", L'Oreal "Penthouse Pink", OPI "Pandamonium Pink" (which is much more lilac in real life), L'Oreal "Butterfly Kisses", and OPI "Ate Berries in the Canaries".

As soon as I had them on, I thought 'oh man, wtf am I doing? Mixing cremes with shimmers and pinks with berries.... gah!' and was about to wipe it off when I spotted my OPI "White Shatter"

*insert Grinch grin here" >:3

Mwahahaha! Suddenly it looks like a real gradient! To finish it off, I added a coat of L.A. Girl "Sparkling Peach" so it would smell sweet and delicious! It also added a little sparkle and some umph! that I was looking for. Perfect!

Until it smudged. Sad face.

However, not as sad as this failmani...
I didn't even bother editing this because omg disastrous. Ick! please focus on the gorgeous holo which is OPI "DS Divine" instead of those icky fingers.

My final mani was OPI "Animal-istic" which was a perfectly glowy v-day red! No pics, I'm terrible.

And by terrible I mean DISTRACTED by the AWESOME I got in the mail!

Julep Maven box and yes, that IS A KATE SPADE ROSA!

(angels singing)
Ahhhh, sorry sorry it's not nail polish, but my maoma sent this precious to me! She knew I had been wanting it since I first saw it last year and she snagged it for me on sale! AMG THX MAOMA <3

Onto my Maven box!
Such pretty wrapping!

Nail Burrito, the tastiest of tasties!

(more angels singing)
This month I got some of their AMAZING cuticle oil in the most GENIUS of bottles- roller ball! What?!? Why is no one else doing this? So handy and it has already made a difference on my cuticles.

My nail colors were Marisa and Oscar, look at the amazing color on Marisa (the blue one)!! Sorry for flash, I was still giddy over my new bag xD

Ok, I think that's everything from V-Day. The only other thing I might make note of is the orders at Llarowe I was hoping to make still haven't come through. Soon, sooooon I hope! *needs Connect the Dots in the worst way!*

<3 and sunshine everyone!
